I started my career wanting to be a illustrator of children's books. I was lucky that at 23 I published my first book as an author/illustrator. I quickly found I could not make a living just doing my books so I got a job in the textbook field on the design side. I fell in love with the process of making books and spent over 30 years running my own company (which still keeps going today). I just wanted to also get back to my first love and write more books. Even though I started out as an illustrator I quickly felt that working as an author was what I preferred. There are so many better artists than me and now I am not limited to only writing about subjects that I know how to draw!
